The Kaufman Astoria Studios is a historic movie studio located in the Astoria section of the New York City borough of Queens. It is home to New York City's only backlot, which opened in December 2013. In March of 2016, Solar Landscape completed installation of 373 rooftop solar panels on the studio’s 18,000 square foot rooftop. The solar voltaic system will prevent 93 metric tons of CO2 being released into the atmosphere annually; equivalent to taking 100 cars off the road each year.
